This photograph was taken by John Moore, a reporter for ABC news, and it shows protesters holding a march calling for the end of the drug war on September 6, 2012 in Manhattan, New York. Mexicans who have lost loved ones in their country’s drug war joined with American supporters as part of the Caravan for Peace with Justice and traveled some 6,000 miles through 25 cities, before arriving in New York. The photograph illustrates how citizens on both sides of the border are tired of the war on drugs and the drug war in Mexico as they aim to raise awareness to the ongoing war that haunts Mexican citizens on a daily basis. The sign that is held by the woman says “NO MORE DRUG WAR” and you can see the passion in her face and the face of other protestors. This photograph proves that citizens on both sides of the border are tired of the war on drugs in the United States and the drug war in Mexico.
